About the Award

The Jung Career Advancement Award provides a significant grant of €210,000 to support a medical research project over 3 years. The funds are planned to help investigators develop their professions and make important donations to their fields. The grant is divided into 2 equal parts, with the 2nd part depending on a positive temporary report reviewed by the Scientific Recommended Board.

Application Requirements

This reward is precisely embattled at medical professionals who have:

  • Complete at least 2 years of scientific study, first overseas.
  • A documented record of scientific activities.
  • Plans to return to Germany to complete their placement training.

The investigative work must be focused on a German hypothetical hospital. Receivers of the award are expected to be pleased with clinical duties for at least 1 year to focus on their research before restarting additional clinical training. Alternating protected time for investigation is also provided for the lasting 2 years.

Candidates do not need to agree to a multitude of institutions at the time of application. Instead, they will choose one in discussion with the Foundation after being selected for the award.

Selection Procedure

The selection process is difficult and involves the following steps:

  1. Initial Review: The Scientific Advisory Board of the Jung Foundation for Science and Research assesses all applications.
  2. Final Choice Rounded: An extreme of 3 applicants are particular for the last round, which contains an in-person interview in Hamburg.

  3. Interpreted Publication List: Highlight up to 3 important books with justifications (PDF format, max. 1 page).
  4. Project Outline: Detailed project objectives, justification, schedule, and work plan (PDF format, max. 5 pages).
  5. Placement Training Permit: If available, provide a certificate of time spent in placement training in a clinical subject
